Susan Kaye

SUSAN KAYE is the Managing Director of The Challenge of Excellence which she founded in 1988. Susan works with clients in Europe, North & South America, China, Japan and the UK. Her specialty is Teamship. Susan works with 'Teams of Leaders' at the top of organisations and corporations, including family businesses, at executive management team, president team and board level. Her work includes; Needs Assessment; Customised Program Development, Design & Delivery; Individual or pair coaching, mentoring or counselling and or a process that involves physiology and heart rate analysis together with the practice of skills leading to 'mastery of emotions' aka 'emotional intelligence'.

Susan's qualities and skills lie in her ability to instil trust, read and understand individuals and groups and work with them to 'grow' in their own natural way towards goals of their own choice.

Susan is a qualified individual, couples and group counsellor, trained in 1980 through Relate and The Institute of Group Analysis, London. She holds a Family Advisor Certificate from the Family Firm Institute (FFI) in the USA, a professional non profit corporation whose purpose it is to educate, train and provide resources for professionals who consult to family businesses. In her three year voluntary service to FFI's Body of Knowledge Committee she worked with a multi disciplinary team of professionals as the group synthesised best practices from the Behavioural Sciences, Management Sciences, Finance & Law, the four fields associated with Family Business, to form a sophisticated knowledge management 'bank' which acts as an integrated resource for professionals consulting to family businesses. Her work with family businesses includes a focus on succession and brings her into collaborative practice with lawyers and financial advisors.

Susan is trained and experienced in the use of various educational learning mediums from psychometric tools to 'experiential learning' practices (learning by doing). Activity based experiences may involve the outdoors, drama, football, golf, creative story telling and a range of customised activities created as metaphors of a client team's real business issues.

Susan is an associate member of the Group Analytic Society London, an associate faculty member of Ashridge Management Business College (UK), a member of the Family Firm Institute USA (FFI).

The ultimate prize for Susan is to feel she has been part of a process that is accountable for moving a group of influential and talented individuals, who want to make a positive difference in the world and who are leaders in their fields, into the state she refers to as inspirational Teamship. Like the sports team in the premier league, winning "The Cup" performing in a harmonious "state of creative flow".
